SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP / November 10, 2014

Holiday Train

– The Canadian Pacific Railway Holiday Train will make a stop in Springwater Township at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, November 30 at Highway 26 and Anne Street North.

The Holiday Train collects food and money for both the Elmvale Food Bank and the Barrie Food Bank and raises awareness in the fight against hunger. The Holiday Train provides a box car stage, a line-up of great musical talents and a corporate contribution to both Food Banks. Residents attending this event are encouraged to donate food and funds, all of which will stay in the local community.

The musical guests this year include Montreal based, Juno award nominated Roxanne Potvin - and Odds, a Canadian power pop rock band who achieved wide commercial success in the 1990s.

Since the PR Holiday Train program began in 1999, it has raised close to $9.5 million and over 3.3 million pounds of food have been collected for local food banks thanks to community supporters.
