Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival
Saturday, April 29, 2017 - 8 am - 5 pm
The Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival began in 1966 and has grown to the second largest festival of its kind held in Ontario. If you have yet to visit this outstanding celebration of one of our nation’s sweetest treasures this is the year to do so. Drawing crowds of over 30,000 people annually, the Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival is a must attend event.
The event takes place in April of every year and displays a variety of maple products from producers throughout the region. In addition to the scrumptious maple syrup the event is home to many other attractions that the whole family will love.
The festival offers an all day pancake breakfast served at the Elmvale Community Hall, a midway and a craft and quilt show at the arena. Enjoy the entertainment on the main stage including musicians, the firefighter pancake eating contest, and log sawing contests. Queen Street and Maria Street turn into a huge shopping market where vendors sell maple products, food, crafts and other products along the streets.
Make sure you stop by the Sugar Shack to grab your information booklet for the festival and purchase your tickets for the sugar bush tour. No Maple Syrup Festival would be complete without seeing where the syrup comes from. Tours take place at the Lalonde’s and Greenlaw’s Sugar Bushes where you will learn how sap is collected and processed first hand.
