Appointments to Committees Of Council 2010 -2014
The Township of Springwater is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the various Boards, Committees and in certain roles for the 2010 - 2014 Council term. For a complete list of Boards and Committees and application forms, please visit our Committees Page.
Voting is a fundamental right of our democracy. By voting in the municipal election, you are selecting representatives who will determine the priorities and direction of our Township and how we live together.
During the next municipal election, Springwater residents will cast their ballots for:
- Mayor
- Deputy Mayor
- Ward Councillors
- School Board Trustees
Be sure to check our website often and expect to find continuous updates as we draw closer to Voting Day 2010.
Important Notice
Nominations are currently being accepted, and the final close of nominations is Friday September 10, 2010. Nominations will be accepted on Nomination Day from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm only.
Please note that the deadline for close of nominations has changed from 5:00 pm to 2:00 pm as per changes to the Municipal Elections Act.
Election Workers
The Township of Springwater is now accepting applications for Election Workers. Interested persons may submit a completed application form in person to the Administration Centre (2231 Nursery Road, Minesing) by September 15, 2010.
On October 27, 2009, the Government of Ontario introduced Bill 212: The Good Government Act, 2009, which proposed several key changes to the Municipal Elections Act. Bill 212 received Royal Assent on December 15, 2009. For more details, visit the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing website at www.mah.gov.on.ca.
