Building Services

Please note:

Summer building season can be very busy.   Please note that during high volume periods we may not be able to meet normal target periods for permits.

Building Services oversees the issuance of building and pool enclosure permits. Additionally, it is responsible for overseeing the Township's Septic Re-Inspection Program.

Building Permit Regulations

A building permit is a means of regulating development in the community so that health, fire, structural and general safety standards to protect individuals and the community as a whole, are met. It is illegal to start work without a permit. Anyone who starts work without a building permit is in contravention of municipal by-law and the Building Code Act and is therefore subject to financial and legal consequences.

The municipal Building By-law incorporates rules, regulations and fee information regarding building permits.

Under the direction of the Chief Building Official, Building Services authorizes and regulates the issuance of Building Permits in compliance with the Ontario Building Code, as mended, Township By-laws and other municipal requirements.

Meet our new mascot -  Bill D. Wiseley - or BW for short.  Watch for him to appear in future publications.  Thanks to everyone who submitted name suggestions during Building Safety Month.
