Council for the Township of Springwater are committed to providing local primary health care options for the community. On July 21, 2011, Mayor Collins and Council were pleased to celebrate in the grand opening of the new Springwater Health Services Centre.
This facility is a partnership between the Township of Springwater and the North Simcoe Family Health Team (NSFHT) and offers services, on an as needed basis, of Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Dieticians, and Diabetes Educators one day a week, and a Physician one day a month, as well as a receptionist, and local volunteers.
This mobile clinic is more than just the specimen collection centre that previously occupied this building. This is the first step towards enticing full time family physicians to Springwater Township.
Currently the mobile clinic is open on Thursdays. Appointments are required.

What is a Family Health Team?
A Family Health Team is an approach to primary health care that brings together different health care providers to co-ordinate the highest possible quality of care for you - the patient. Designed to give doctors support from other complementary professionals, most Family Health Teams will consist of doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners and other health care professionals who work collaboratively, each utilizing their experience and skills so that you receive the very best care, when you need it, as close to home as possible.
How can I access the Family Health Team Services?
Services are provided to enrolled patients only. The general public or uninsured patients (those without a health card) cannot access services. You must sign an enrollment form to become an enrolled patient to one of the physicians involved with the Family Health Team.
Patients that do not have a family physician can be enrolled. Patients that do have a family physician but wish to access primary health care closer to home can be enrolled if the attending family physician understands and is made aware that the patient freely wishes to enroll with the Springwater Health Services Centre. A signed letter from the family physician must accompany the enrolment request.

The Township of Springwater Council, staff and residents, would also like to thank TD Canada Trust for their generous donation, which is being used for renovations to the Springwater Health Services Centre, specific to the specimen collection functions of the centre.
