Springwater Fire Responds to Barn Collapse

Township of Springwater / February 19, 2021 – Shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, Springwater Fire responded to reports of a barn collapse with trapped livestock on Elliott Sideroad.
Upon arrival Stations 4 & 5 confirmed that the roof of the structure had collapsed into the barn, with a number of cattle trapped inside. Thankfully, the majority of the livestock was outside of the barn at the time of the collapse.

Midhurst Community Centre - Heritage Attributes
On August 5, Springwater Council approved proceeding with the formal designation of the Midhurst Community Centre as a heritage property under the Ontario Heritage Act.
On the recommendation of the Heritage Advisory Committee, at the February 17 meeting, Council approved the following attributes be included in the designation by-law:

COVID-19
The Province of Ontario has announced that as of Tuesday, February 16 at 12:01 am, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit area will be moving into the red-control category of the Provincial COVID-19 Framework and will no longer be subject to the Stay-at-Home order.
