The Township of Springwater received a legal opinion from Loopstra Nixon LLP, dated July 11, 2025, concerning the City of Barrie’s Proposed Boundary Adjustment. Subsequently, at its Special Meeting of September 3, 2025, Council directed that a summary of the legal opinion, dated August 5, 2025, be released to the public via media release, in addition to releasing the opinion in its entirety on the Township website.

Effective immediately, the Township of Springwater has lifted the water ban for the Snow Valley Municipal Water System, which includes the Snow Valley Highlands, Snow Valley Lowlands, and Centre Vespra. This decision comes as a result of cooler temperatures, recent rainfall, and reduced water consumption levels in the area. Township of Springwater Lifts Fire Ban

The outdoor fire ban has been lifted for the entirety of the Township of Springwater, effective immediately.
The ban was previously in effect from July 17 to August 20, 2025, and was necessary due to prolonged periods of high temperatures and low precipitation which created an environment highly vulnerable to fires. With the improvement in weather conditions, including increased rainfall and cooler temperatures, the risk has lessened, allowing the Township to safely lift the fire ban.
