The Township of Springwater collects development charges on new properties to help pay for growing municipal infrastructure and services, such as:
- Roads, water and wastewater
- Libraries and parks
- Fire and other government services

Fees and by-law
Our Development Charge By-law applies one-time development fees on new development or redevelopment so that the cost of providing new infrastructure is not borne fully by existing taxpayers. Rates change annually on January 1. The by-law also includes area specific development charges.
Development charge background study
The Development Charges Act requires that a background study be prepared to determine fees based on current service levels and the forecasted amount, type and location of future development within the municipality.
