Official Plan Review (OPR)
The Planning Act requires every municipality to update its Official Plan at least once every five years. The process for our current review includes:
|OPR Process Overview|
OPR Stakeholder Meeting Presentations - February 23, 2021
Official Plan Review Stakeholders Meeting held on February 23, 2021 for Ministries & Agencies
Official Plan Review Stakeholders Meeting held on February 23, 2021 for resident stakeholders and members of the public
Council has received the results of three major background study reports as well as input and comments arising from those reports. The information and feedback will help form the initial draft policies of the Official Plan. Once the draft Official Plan is prepared, the public and interested stakeholders will have the opportunity to provide comments on the draft policies at an Open House and Public Meeting (dates TBD).
Please submit all comments for the Official Plan Review process to the Planning Department.
Applying for an Official Plan Amendment
If your plans for developing your property aren't consistent with the Official Plan, you will need to apply for an Official Plan Amendment. More information on this process is available through a consultation with planning staff.
