      Asset management within the Township of Springwater evaluates the services provided by the Township, identifies the assets required for these services, and determines which assets are essential for efficient service delivery.

      The Township of Springwater has launched a comprehensive Asset Management Plan (AMP) to strategically oversee its infrastructure and resources. This initiative focuses on evaluating the services provided by the Township, pinpointing the assets necessary for service delivery, and identifying critical assets that ensure efficient operations.

      The AMP will provide a detailed inventory of assets, establish service levels, outline performance criteria, and the strategies and resources essential to maintaining service standards. Additionally, while aligning with Master Plans, the AMP influences various Township documents, including operational and capital budgets, strategic plans, and user fee assessments.

      Project Timelines

      In accordance with the Ontario Regulation 588/17: Asset Management Planning for Municipal Infrastructure under the Infrastructure for Jobs and Prosperity Act, 2015 (O. Reg. 588/17), the Township has updated the asset management plan to include all the 2024 legislative requirements and is progressively working towards compliance with the 2025 Asset Management Plan.  

      2019 - Asset Management Policy

      2022 - Township infrastructure for core assets established

      2024 - Asset Management Plan

      2025 - Township begins next phase of Asset Management Plan. This includes an identification of proposed levels of service, lifecycle costing, growth impacts and financial strategy.
