South Georgian Bay and Springwater Community Safety and Well-Being Plan
The 2021-2025 South Georgian Bay and Springwater Community Safety and Well-Being Plan is a shared commitment from local government, police, and community partners across different sectors to work together to improve social conditions and enhance safety and well-being for all residents.
The aim of the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan is to ensure that everyone in the community feels safe and a sense of belonging, has access to services, and can meet their needs for education, healthcare, food, housing, income, and social and cultural expression.
Ontario municipalities are required by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services to develop and adopt Community Safety and Well-Being Plans. Beyond the legislative requirements under the Safer Ontario Act (2018), our plan looks at tackling tough social issues from a different angle, addressing root causes through inter-sectoral collaboration.
The South Georgian Bay & Springwater Community Safety and Well-Being Plan has prioritized three areas of focus:
- Mental Health and Addictions
- Housing
- Access to Services
The Township of Springwater partnered with the Town of Collingwood, the Township of Clearview, and the Town of Wasaga Beach to implement the South Georgian Bay & Springwater Community Safety and Well-Being Plan. This plan was adopted by Springwater Council on June 16, 2021. View the full plan at 2021-2025 South Georgian Bay and Springwater Community Safety and Well-Being Plan.
