Due to ongoing public health pandemic (COVID-19) the Water Meter Replacement program has been suspended until further notice.
Every property that receives water from the Township of Springwater requires a water meter. We're in the process of replacing existing water meters and meter reading technologies to:
- Improve efficiency of the meter reading process with new radio frequency meters
- Minimize the need for staff to enter homes and businesses to get meter reads
- To install valves, backflow prevention and expansion tanks if the property doesn't already have them
The water meter replacement program is mandatory. The program is currently targeting the Hillsdale area. Read more about the Water Meter Replacement Program.
Scheduling an appointment
Contractors from WAMCO Waterworks will deliver information packages to residents in the targeted areas. Residents should book an appointment within 5 days of receiving a visit from Wamco. Schedule your appointment:
- By calling Wamco at 1-833-926-2626
Installers have very flexible hours and work every day of the week. There is no cost for the meter or the installation in existing homes.
All water meter installers will have a Township of Springwater photo ID card identifying themselves as contractors working for Wamco Waterworks and will arrive in a vehicle with a Township of Springwater logo. Installers will also have Wamco hats and shirts. Every installer has the necessary training and certification to perform water meter installations.
Residents cannot change the meter themselves.
Water meter maintenance
The Township maintains the water meter at no cost providing you take precautions not to damage it. It is illegal to tamper with a water meter.
