Short-Term Rental Official Plan Amendment & Zoning By-law Amendment

Council has adopted an Official Plan Amendment (OPA) and Zoning By-law Amendment (ZBA) to permit and regulate the use of low-density residential units as short-term rental properties in certain zones. On September 18, Council approved a Short-Term Rental Licensing By-law to regulate and license short-term rental accommodations within the Township. The OPA requires County of Simcoe approval and the new ZBA and Licensing By-law will come into force and effect following its approval.  

Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project Award

Insituform Technologies Limited was awarded the 2024 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project contract at a cost of $133,934.38 excluding HST. The project includes the relining of several sanitary mainline sections within Elmvale.

Solar Powered Radar Boards

Following a Notice of Motion by Deputy Mayor Cabral, Council has directed staff to procure solar-powered radar boards. The boards are designed to provide real-time feedback and alert drivers to their speed with the goal of reducing excessive speeding and gathering statistical speed data for analysis. Three radar signs will be purchased at a cost of $4,350 each and will be funded from the discretionary funds of the Deputy Mayor, the Ward 1 Councillor, and the Ward 2 Councillor.
