Township of Springwater Council Appoints Interim Leadership

At the January 2, 2025, Special Meeting, Springwater Council appointed Doug Herron, Director of Planning and Development, as Interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), and Greg Bedard, Director of Finance/Treasurer, as Interim Deputy CAO, effective immediately.

During this interim phase, both Director’s Herron and Bedard will deliver strategic oversight and leadership to guarantee the continuous delivery of projects and services across the Township.

Doug Herron, Director of Planning and Development at the Township of Springwater, brings more than thirty years of experience in the planning and development sector with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Western University and is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Public Planners and Ontario Professional Planners Institute.

Greg Bedard, Director of Finance/Treasurer at the Township of Springwater has over a decade of experience in municipal finance. Director Bedard holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialization in accounting and public management and is accredited as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Municipal Revenue Professional (CMRP).

The recruitment process for a permanent CAO will begin shortly and Springwater Council is dedicated to selecting the ideal candidate for this role.
