      Update as of March 7, 2025, at 9:28 a.m.

The Township of Springwater has declared a Significant Weather Event, as of 9:28 a.m. on March 7, 2025.

The Significant Weather Event has been declared due to the currently deteriorating weather and road conditions throughout the Township.

The declaration is made as it relates to Ontario’s Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Roads and isn’t notice of a reduced level of service or a road closure. It is to notify the public that due to the current or forecast conditions, caution is to be observed when travelling on roads maintained by the Township of Springwater as it may take longer than usual to bring the roads back to optimal conditions.

Residents are asked to avoid unnecessary travel at this time. The Elmvale Emergency Warming Centre remains open at the Elmvale Community Hall (33 Queen Street W) for anyone in need of shelter.

The Township will issue public notice when this significant weather event has ended.

      The following roads remain closed:
      • Flos Road 4 West from Vigo Road to Crossland Road
      • Flos Road 7 West from County Road 27 to Crossland Road
      • Flos Road 7 West from Crossland Road to Vigo Road
      • Flos Road 8 West from County Road 27 to Crossland Road
      • Flos Road 8 West from Vigo Road to Crossland Road
      • Flos Road 10 West from Yonge Street North to Vigo Road

      • Ushers Road from Tiny Flos Townline to County Road 92

      • Tiny Flos Townline

Additionally, major accidents have occurred on both County Road 92 and County Road 27. We ask motorists to avoid these routes to allow emergency crews to efficiently clear the area.

If your car has been towed by the OPP, please call the non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122.
