Holiday Events 2022

Each year, Springwater residents and visitors can enjoy festive events and celebrations hosted by community organizations throughout the Township. From tree lightings and holiday markets to spectacular displays, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

All November	Springwater Library Holiday Silent Auction	Virtual event	For the month of November, Springwater Public Library is hosting its annual Holiday Silent Auction fundraiser. Find amazing gift items and get your holiday shopping done early! To participate, create an account at www.biddingowl.com and search ‘Springwater Public Library’ in the Featured Auctions tab.
November 26	SSFA Charity Christmas Tree Sale	1027 Bayfield Street North, Midhurst	The South Springwater Firefighters Association's Annual Charity Christmas Tree Sale starts November 26 with a Christmas Tree Party. All proceeds support local community charities.
November 27	Minesing Christmas Tree Lighting	Minesing Community Centre 2347 Ronald Road	The annual Minesing Tree Lighting will take place Sunday November 27, starting at 4:30pm. Enjoy a picture with Santa and Swampy, face painting, pizza, and Christmas crafts. Non-perishable food items, monetary donations and toys will be collected for the Elmvale Food Bank and local toy drive.
November 30	CP Holiday Train	Anne Street North & Wenden Court	The CP Holiday Train is returning to the rails for the first time in three years to bring holiday cheer to hundreds of communities while raising money, food and awareness for local food banks. The train will be rolling into Springwater at 12:15 p.m. on November 30. This year features performances by Scott Helman and Madeline Merlo. Proceeds will support the Elmvale & District Food Bank.
December 2	Elmvale Christmas Tree Lighting	Elmvale Gateway Parkette	The Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival presents the kick-off to the holiday season with a Christmas Tree Lighting at the Elmvale Gateway Parkette. The tree lighting will begin at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
December 3	Hillsdale Christmas Tree Lighting	Hillsdale Community Centre, 4517 Penetanguishene Road	The Hillsdale Christmas Tree Lighting is taking place on December 3 at 6:00 p.m. The festive evening will also include kids' activities and a sleigh or wagon ride to kick of the holiday season.
December 3	Midhurst Christmas Tree Lighting	Midhurst Pavilion, 41 Spence Avenue	The Midhurst Community Recreation Association will be hosting its Christmas Tree Lighting on December 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the new spruce tree located outside the Midhurst Pavilion.
December 4	Elmvale Santa Claus Parade	Elmvale	The Elmvale & District Lions Club Santa Claus Parade Committee invites you to enjoy an afternoon of holiday fun and community spirit on December 4. The parade will start at 1:00 p.m. at Huronia Centennial Elementary School, after which there will be free public skating at the Elmvale Arena from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This year's parade theme is 'Christmas in Candyland'. December 9	Elmvale Lioness Lions Sleigh Ride in the Village	Elmvale	From 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., this free event will feature horse and wagon rides, hotdogs, hot chocolate, hot apple cider, face painting, kids crafts, an adult market, and kids' toys available to win. All Elmvale and local area residents are welcome.
December 9	Minesing Christmas Tractor Parade	Minesing	Mark your calendars for Minesing’s 3nd Annual Christmas Tractor Parade on December 9 starting at 7:00 p.m. Greet local farmers as they drive by and bring out a food item for the Elmvale & District Food Bank if you are able to donate. December 10 & 11	Christmas in the Village	Anten Mills Community Park, 3985 Horseshoe Valley Road West	The Anten Mills Community Recreation Association is hosting Christmas in the Village this holiday season. Enjoy a tree lighting and fireworks on December 10 and then return the following day at 1:00 p.m. for the 25th annual Anten Mills Santa Claus Parade. A 'touch of silver' is this year's parade theme.
December 23 & 24	Santa's Firetruck Run	Throughout Springwater	Join the Firefighter Associations for this yearly tradition! Firefighters and Santa Claus will drive through the neighbourhoods of Springwater spreading cheer and goodwill wherever they go. The firefighters will be out in Elmvale and Phelpston on December 23 and visit Anten Mills, Midhurst, Minesing, Grenfel, Centre Vespra, Snow Valley and Hillsdale on December 24. Listen for the sirens and watch for the lights as they head to your street!
November 18 to January 1	Magic of Lights	Springwater Provincial Park	Magic of Lights is a dazzling, drive-through holiday lights experience featuring favorite holiday scenes and characters using the latest LED technology and digital animations.
