Holiday Events 2023

Each year, Springwater residents and visitors can enjoy festive events and celebrations hosted by community organizations throughout the Township. From tree lightings and holiday markets to spectacular displays, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

November 25	SSFA Charity Christmas Tree Sale	1027 Bayfield Street North, Midhurst	The South Springwater Firefighters Association's Annual Charity Christmas Tree Sale starts November 25 with a Christmas Tree Party. All proceeds support local community charities.
November 29	CPKC Holiday Train	Anne Street North & Wenden Court	The CPKC Holiday Train is returning to the rails to bring holiday cheer to hundreds of communities while raising money, food and awareness for local food banks. The train will be rolling into Springwater at 12:15 p.m. on November 29. This year features a performance by the Anyway Gang. Parking and a shuttle will be available at Tree Nursery Sports Park (2231 Nursery Road). Donations for the food bank will be accepted on-site.
December 1	Elmvale Christmas Tree Lighting	Elmvale Gateway Parkette	The Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival presents the kick-off to the holiday season with a Christmas Tree Lighting at the Elmvale Gateway Parkette. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the tree lighting taking place at 7:00 p.m. on December 1.
December 2	Elmvale Holiday Skating Showcase	Elmvale Arena, 14 George St.	Celebrate the holiday with the Elmvale Skating Club's Holiday Skating Showcase. $5 per ticket online or at the door. All proceeds support the Junior Farmers Fund, which ensures every skate can participate in the Elmvale Skating Club.
December 2	Hillsdale Christmas Tree Lighting	Hillsdale Community Centre, 4517 Penetanguishene Road	Join the Hillsdale Community Recreation Association for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., this year will feature a choir, crafts, treats, sleigh rides and a visit with Santa Claus. The Hillsdale Firefighters Association will be on site selling Christmas Tree to raise money for local charities. Donations for the Elmvale & District Food Bank will be accepted on site.
December 3	Elmvale Santa Claus Parade	Elmvale	The Elmvale & District Lions Club Santa Claus Parade Committee invites you to enjoy an afternoon of holiday fun and community spirit on December 3. The parade will start at 1:00 p.m. at Huronia Centennial Elementary School. This year's parade theme is 'The Night Before Christmas'.
December 3	Midhurst Christmas Tree Lighting	Midhurst Pavilion, 41 Spence Avenue	The Midhurst Community Recreation Association will be hosting its Christmas Tree Lighting on December 3 at 4:30 p.m. at the Midhurst Pavilion.
December 8	Phelpston Christmas Wagon Ride	Phelpston	Details TBC
December 8	Elmvale Lioness Lions Sleigh Ride in the Village	Elmvale Community Hall	From 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., this free event will feature horse and wagon rides, hotdogs, hot chocolate, hot apple cider, face painting, kids crafts, an adult market, and kids' toys available to win. All Elmvale and local area residents are welcome. Donations to the Elmvale & District Food Bank are appreciated.
December 8	Minesing Tree Lighting & Christmas Tractor Parade	Minesing	Mark your calendars for Minesing’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Tractor Parade. This event will take place on December 8 starting at 6:30 p.m. with a tree lighting at the Minesing Community Centre and continue with the annual tractor parade, following it's typical route. Donations for the Elmvale & District Food Bank will be collected. View the Facebook event page for further details.
December 9	Anten Mills Tree Lighting	Anten Mills Community Park, 3985 Horseshoe Valley Road West	The Anten Mills Community Recreation Association is hosting the annual tree lighting celebration on December 9 at the Anten Mills Community Centre. Additional details TBC.
December 10	Anten Mills Santa Claus Parade	Anten Mills	Santa will be visiting Anten Mills on December 10 at 1pm for the annual Santa Claus Parade. The parade will begin at Laddie Lane and Pinery and make its way through the community.
December 23 & 24	Santa's Firetruck Run	Springwater	Join the Firefighter Associations for this yearly tradition! Firefighters and Santa Claus will drive through the neighbourhoods of Springwater spreading cheer and goodwill wherever they go. The firefighters will be out in Elmvale and Phelpston on December 23 and visit Anten Mills, Midhurst, Minesing, Grenfel, Centre Vespra, Snow Valley and Hillsdale on December 24.
