    Join the fun this March Break with registered programming, drop-in skating and more! All activities have been modified in accordance with public health guidelines. For more information, please visit springwater.ca/Arena.

    Registered STEAM Courses

    In partnership with Kids Great Minds, the Township is offering two virtual half day courses throughout March Break, including Cartoon Animation and Games/Animation Programming.

    Cartoon Computer Animation Camp (Ages 7-11)

    Dive into STEAM with animation technology! This camp will enhance your child’s creativity and bring their inspiring stories to life by incorporating the 12 principles of animation. Children will animate their own characters and create animated shorts and a final cartoon movie, all while developing logical thinking skills.

    The camp will be offered online via video conferencing with live sessions to be provided by a Kids Great Minds instructor. An email will be sent to families with a link to join the camp, as well as software instructions.

    Required: an Apple© iPad or Android Tablet is required for the program portion of the camp and a computer, microphone and speakers for video.

    Games and Animations Programming Camp (Ages 8-11)

    This camp will introduce children to the amazing world of computer programming! Using Scratch (from MIT), a fun and easy-to-use multimedia software, children will have great adventures designing games and animations, solving problems, and communicating ideas using stackable blocks of code.

    The camp will be offered online via video conferencing with live sessions to be provided by a Kids Great Minds instructor. An email will be sent to families with a link to join the camp, as well as software instructions.

    Required: a computer (Mac, PC or Chromebook), microphone and speakers.

    Themed Public Skating

    Themed all ages public skating will be available at the Elmvale Community Arena throughout March Break. Costumes are encouraged!

    Pre-registration is required for every individual date you wish to attend. For more information on skating at our facilities, please visit springwater.ca/Arena.

    March Break Activities with the Springwater Township Public Library

    The Springwater Township Public Library is offering activities all week long!

    March Break Bags

    For ages 3-6 or 7-10 with FIVE days of activities, games, etc. for two children.

    Cost: $10; on sale at the Elmvale and Midhurst branches beginning Monday, March 7

    March Break Bingo

    For ages 11+ (adults can do this too). Pick up your bingo sheet from the Library (Elmvale or Midhurst branches) and return it before April 4 for a special prize!

    Online LIVE Trivia Program

    On Wednesday, March 16 from 11 am to 12 pm, enjoy live online family trivia for all ages! There will be something for everyone in this fun trivia that includes: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Disney, music, logos, emojis and superheroes! Registration is required.

    Lego Building Challenge

    On Thursday March 17, find Miss Amanda on the Library's Facebook page or website to join in on its monthly Lego building challenge! Snap a quick pic of your creation and email it to your Library branch to win a FREE Lego figurine!

     Scent Training and Urban Ratting

    Our very first IN-PERSON program at Springwater Public Library is taking place outdoors on Friday, March 18 at 10:30 am. Families with children ages 6+ are invited to bring a lawn chair and learn about scent trained animals. Nika the dog, and Snoopy and Woodstock the rats will give a demonstration, after which you can take a craft home to make and enjoy. Registration required by March 16.

    Get Active with ParticipACTION

    ParticipACTION has made an itinerary of workouts through their app so you can get active every day of the week—whether you're taking time off or just taking a break for yourself!
