Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update

The Township of Springwater is updating the existing Parks and Recreation Master Plan (2016) to guide the future planning of recreational facilities and services. As the municipality continues to grow, the Plan will assist the Township in guiding and managing the direction of parks, open spaces, programs, events, facilities, and amenities in a cost effective and sustainable manner.

Springwater has awarded Sierra Planning and Management the contract to update Springwater's Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

This is your opportunity to participate in the plan’s creation by adding your voice to the conversation. Check out our upcoming engagement opportunities. There will be a variety of community engagement opportunities as the plan develops. Over the course of the project, the consulting team will engage with a variety of stakeholders including community groups, sports organizations, community recreation associations, public/private/not-for-profit agencies, as well as the public. The goal of the updated Master Plan is to guide the direction of parks, open spaces, programs, events, facilities, and amenities in a cost effective and sustainable manner for the next 10 years.

Open House 1

A public workshop was held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the Administration Centre. Residents and stakeholders were invited to engage with consultants, learn about the project and provide feedback to help inform the development and enhancements of the Township's Parks and Recreation programs and facilities plan for the next 10 years.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Parks and Recreation Master Plan Open House on February 27. The presentation highlighted key recommendations in the draft plan. The Township invites community members to share their thoughts and ideas via an online survey below. Your input and engagement on the key directions is appreciated. Responses will be collected until March 15.
