How have you been active and creative this winter? Our yards have served us with endless hours of fun and entertainment this year and we want to see how your family has made the most of it while staying home. This contest allows residents to show off what they have been up to while staying home and staying safe.
Have you built a snow castle, created an obstacle course or turned your snow covered yards into a paint canvas? We challenge you to get outside, get creative and show us how you have been making the most of winter!
This contest has closed. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 10 on the Township's Facebook and Twitter accounts.
|Springwater At Home Activity Ideas|
While staying safe at home you are encouraged to get outside and enjoy all things winter! Here are some fun ideas to get your family outside!
Outdoor Snow Canvas Painting
Gather your paint brushes, spray bottles and food colouring (or Kool-Aid mix). Define your canvas in the snow and paint away! Snow can be a great canvas for mosaics or stencil art.
Pull out the summer beach buckets to help form the base of a great winter fort. To add to your fort try freezing containers of water and food colouring to make coloured ice blocks.
Snowperson and Snow Creature Building
Sculpt, roll, and add props to build your one of a kind snow person!
Cold air and bright stars! Winter is one of the best times for star gazing, grab a hot chocolate bundle up and head outside. Cold air holds less hazy moisture than hot summer air, so nights tend to be very clear and perfect for winter star gazing.
Winter Hikes and Scavenger Hunts
Create your own luge or toboggan hill around your yard, a little slope can create a lot of fun!
Make Your Own Maple Taffy
Maple Syrup season is just around the corner and Springwater is home to many great maple syrup farms! Grab your favourite maple syrup and follow the recipe to create your own Maple Taffy at home!
