Under the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act, the Township establishes and maintains a public registry of pecuniary (financial) interests declared by council, committee and board members at a meeting.
Disclosing an interest
In disclosing a pecuniary interest, legislation requires a member to:
- Disclose their interest and the general nature of the matter prior to any consideration at the meeting
- File a written statement of their interest and its general nature with the Clerk using the Declaration of Interest Form
- Not take part in the discussion of or vote on any question in respect of the matter
- Not attempt in any way whether before, during or after the meeting to influence the voting on the matter
For more information, please contact the Clerk's Department at 705-728-4784 x2015.
