Springwater's Climate Change Action Plan |
The Township of Springwater is working with the Severn Sound Environmental Association to develop a Local Climate Change Action Plan. Springwater joined the Partners for Climate Protection program in March 2022 and has committed to achieving five (5) milestones within ten (10) years. The milestones require the Township to calculate a corporate and community baseline, set a target for reduction and then develop and adopt a final plan. Ward Boundary Review |
The Township is completing a ward boundary review to ensure that electoral wards are balanced and provide residents with equitable and responsive representation. The primary purpose of a ward boundary review is to ensure fair and effective representation for all residents within a municipality. By periodically reviewing and, if necessary, adjusting ward boundaries, the municipality aims to achieve a more balanced distribution of population among wards. This helps to ensure that each councillor represents a similar number of constituents, thus promoting equitable representation and responsiveness to community needs. During the Regular Council meeting on October 1, 2025, Council approved Option 2 for reconfiguring the five wards as detailed in Schedule 'A'. The Township of Springwater will evaluate the six ward configurations proposed by the consultant when the municipal population reaches 32,000. This approach aims to maintain fair and effective representation for Springwater residents. |

Water & Wastewater Master Plan |
The Township of Springwater is undertaking a Water and Wastewater Master Plan to evaluate current and future servicing needs. The plan will align with the Township’s Official Plan and its mission of supporting development in designated areas, maintaining community characteristics, and preserving natural heritage. Public consultation is a key component of the Class EA process and the Township wants to ensure that anyone interested has the opportunity to get involved and provide input. Public Information Centres are planned for future stages of the Plan to inform the public about the steps involved in this work and to gather feedback on the alternative solutions being considered. |
