Potential Canada Post Mail Delays

On May 23, 2025, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) started an overtime ban affecting the Urban and RSMC groups. This means CUPW members won’t be working extra hours, which could cause some mail and delivery delays. Canada Post is still operating, and you can find more information at CanadaPost.ca/negotiations.

Due to the possibility of a Canada Post strike, which may disrupt mail and package delivery services, the Township of Springwater issued and mailed Final Tax Bills earlier than usual this year. All due dates remain unchanged. Property owners/residents must pay property tax and water/wastewater bills, as well as any fines/infractions by the due date.

To ensure you receive water and tax bills through email sign up for e-billing.

For utility bill inquiries, please call 705-728-4784 ext. 2301 or email utilities@springwater.ca.

Volunteers help with a variety of Township activities, from seniors services and recreation programs to environmental events and festivals!

      Boards and committees

We have many municipal boards and committees that provide guidance to members of council. Serving on one is a key way that you can make a difference in your community. We recruit committee and board members with each new term of council, and will fill any vacancies during the term. Contact the Clerk’s Department by email or by phone at 705-728-4784 x2015 to see if there are any current opportunities.

      Events and festivals

Get in touch with your local Community Recreation Association or event organizer for volunteering opportunities at upcoming events and festivals.

      Outdoor rinks

Maintain neighbourhood rinks by flooding, shovelling and caring for equipment. Contact our Director of Recreation, Parks & Facilities by email or by phone at 705-728-4784 x2053 for details.

Long term care and seniors services

Through the County of Simcoe, volunteers are needed at local long term care and seniors homes. Visit the County website for application forms, available opportunities and more details.

      Tree planting

The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA) relies on volunteers for their community tree planting program. NVCA's "Friends" groups work to maintain and enhance specific conservation areas:

      • Friends of Historic Fort Willow
      • Friends of Minesing Wetlands

Visit the NVCA website for details.
