Ages

Each camp will have a minimum age to register. If your child is turning the minimum age by September 4, 2026 (the last day of summer camp) they will be able to register into the camp. For example, if you child turns 5 on or before September 4, 2026 they will be able to register into 2026 day camps where the minimum age is 5. Children turning 5 after September 4, 2026 would be able to register the following year. ID Verification of age may be requested during the campers first week of camp.

Please note that participation in camps requires all campers be fully potty trained and washroom independent. Campers are expected to recognize the need to use the washroom without prompt and manage their personal hygiene independently. Campers should be able to handle the entire washroom process independently, which includes managing clothing, using toilet paper, and washing hands without assistance. Campers who are unable to be fully independent may result in the camper's removal from the program.

If your child is still over the maximum age and you would like to register for a camp, please contact the Supervisor of Recreation.

Inclusion Services

The Township of Springwater welcomes everyone. We are dedicated to offering opportunities for all children and youth. We provide a welcoming, comfortable and supportive environment to encourage participation, and to help support the needs and goals for each participant.

For further information regarding Inclusion Services this summer, please contact the Supervisor of Recreation or at

Yes, you may provide your own support worker. We require that they provide us with a Vulnerable Sector Screening and sign a release of liability prior to attending a program with a participant. Please be aware that we kindly encourage the support worker to participate in the activities as they are as a role model for other participants.

This type of support may be required if the individual requires frequent individual instruction/assistance/redirection and may require breaks from the program.

If you are interested in providing your own support person for an individual in a recreation program, please contact the Recreation Supervisor. A family member, friend, trained support person or social worker, at least 16 years of age, or older, can provide support.

Additional support is required, if:

  • Extra support is required at school
  • A disability exists that could affect the safety of the participant or other participants in the camp
  • Extra support is required at home for basic care
  • Participant is associated with a support agency and/or program
  • Participant has a safety plan with their educational institution
  • There are behaviours to be managed i.e.: biting, scratching, pinching, eloping etc.

The Township of Springwater reserves the right to re-evaluate a participant's registration if:

  • The participant's needs cannot be safely met
  • The participant poses a danger to themselves or others
  • Staff are unable to meet the care level necessary for a participant's safe and successful program experience
  • The participant's medical, physical or behavioural condition is significantly different to what was disclosed

Camper Conduct

Our camps aim to create an atmosphere where each camper feels safe and respects the rights of others. If a child experiences behavioural problems, we will endeavor to provide the necessary assistance to minimize any difficulties. We will utilize positive behaviour management strategies to strive for a successful and enjoyable camp experience. If your child is involved in any incidents, parents will be notified immediately.

The Township of Springwater has a Rzone Policy that sets expectations for behaviour at our facilities and sports fields and in our parks and programs. The "R" in Rzone stands for respect and responsibility:

  • Respect for yourself and others
  • Responsibility for your actions

While participating in camps, campers are expected to:

  • Listen to counsellors and supervisors
  • Stay with the group
  • Follow all camp rules
  • Refrain from inappropriate language
  • Keep hands to themselves

Inappropriate behaviour will be documented, reported, and could result in the participants removal from camp. If your child has behavioural concerns, please contact the Supervisor of Recreation to discuss ways to assist in providing a positive camp experience for everyone.
