      About the Study

The Township of Springwater is undertaking a Water and Wastewater Master Plan (WWW Master Plan) to evaluate current and future servicing needs over the next 20 years. This WWW Master Plan builds on forecast of the Township’s population growing from 22,320 residents in 2021 to 45,860 by 2041 and employment growing by approximately 8,360 jobs over the same time period. The intent is to capture servicing needs of all the communities across the Township, recognizing that each community has its own, specific priorities, and to develop alternative solutions addressing these needs. The WWW Master Plan applies to all areas designated as Urban Settlement Areas receiving water and wastewater servicing, including: Anten Mills; Centre Vespra; Elmvale; Hillsdale; Midhurst; Minesing; Phelpston; and Snow Valley. The WWW Master Plan will support the Township’s Official Plan and its mission of supporting development in designated areas, maintaining community characteristics, and preserving natural heritage. The WWW Master Plan will be completed in accordance with the Master Plan modified Approach #2 process as identified in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) document (amended 2023).

Public Information Centres - Phase 1

The focus of the Phase 1 PIC will be on describing the Master Plan process, outlining the existing water and wastewater systems in the communities, and presenting growth forecasts. Another PIC will be held later in the study. Township staff and project consultants from Ainley Group will be available in a drop-in format to discuss the study and answer your questions.

To be part of the process and get involved, please attend one of the following sessions being held on:

      Monday, June 24 | 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
      Township Administration Centre
      2231 Nursery Road, Minesing

      or

      Wednesday, June 26 | 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
      Elmvale Community Hall
      33 Queen Street W, Elmvale

The display boards will also be posted online for review at www.springwater.ca/WWWMasterPlan
