Cemeteries

Springwater has one active Township operated cemetery and four inactive cemeteries. There are also privately operated cemeteries that service our community.

The Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) urges all consumers to access A Guide to Death Care in Ontario, a free consumer-protection information booklet. The guide is written for families and the public to know their rights and responsibilities before entering into contracts with organizations that are licensed under the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002.

Active Cemetery

The Midhurst Union Cemetery (1444 St. Vincent Street) is the only active Township operated cemetery.

The cemetery is situated in a peaceful area where the natural elements provide a beautiful backdrop.

The Township has the following sites for purchase:

Traditional casket burial sites

  • Located on the north side of the cemetery.
  • Single plot can accommodate one casket, or one casket and one urn, or four urns

Columbaria niche

  • Two columbaria structures located on the north side, near the cemetery entrance
  • Niche can accommodate a maximum of two urns

  • Christ Church Cemetery (2894 Wilson Drive, Minesing)
  • Midhurst Pioneer Cemetery (102 Doran Road, Midhurst)
  • Swan Family Cemetery (Old Second North, Elmvale)
