Notice of Road Closure on Vespra Valley Road for Bridge and Culvert Work

The Township of Springwater would like to advise affected residents of an upcoming road closure as part of the replacement of Bridge 4 and rehabilitation of Culvert 210, located on Vespra Valley Road. This work is being undertaken to replace the existing bridge with new concrete box culverts and to rehabilitate the existing culvert with rodent grates.

As a result of the bridge replacement and culvert rehabilitation, Vespra Valley Road from Mayer Road to Snow Valley Road will be closed to through traffic.

Construction is anticipated to begin August 4, 2026, and is expected to continue until October 2026, weather permitting and subject to change. The Township has retained Arnott Group to complete the replacement and rehabilitation.

During construction, residents may experience temporary inconveniences, including dust, noise, vibration, and construction traffic. The Township and its contractor will make reasonable efforts to minimize disruptions and complete the work as efficiently as possible. To view detailed mapping of the project, visit Municipal 511.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.

Traffic control measures, including detour signage and cones, will be in place to guide motorists safely around the work zone via a detour.

Garbage, recycling, and organics collection are expected to continue on regular collection days. Residents are asked to clearly mark their address on all containers and place materials curbside by 7:00 a.m. If required, collection items may be temporarily relocated by the contractor to facilitate pickup and then returned later the same day.

Residents are reminded to use extra caution in and around the construction zone. For everyone’s safety, please do not enter closed work areas and ensure children and pets are kept a safe distance from equipment and materials.
