Township of Springwater's Annual Road Rehabilitation Program to Commence
The Township of Springwater would like to advise affected residents of upcoming road resurfacing works as part of the Township’s annual road rehabilitation program. This work is being undertaken to improve roadway conditions and extend the service life of municipal infrastructure.
The following roads are scheduled for resurfacing:
- Cowdray Park Lane – Finlay Mill Road to Cairns Boulevard
- Rosewood Avenue – Idlewood Drive to Silverwood Crescent
- Old Second Road South – Pooles Road to Forbes Road
- Old Second Road North – Matheson Road to Flos Road 4 East
- Flos Road 10 West – County Road 29 (Crossland Road) to Vigo Road
- Hendrie Road – Nursery Road to Wilson Drive
Construction is anticipated to begin in June 2026 and is expected to continue until August 2026, weather permitting and subject to change. The Township has retained Georgian Paving Inc. to complete the pulverization, milling and resurfacing works.
During construction, residents may experience temporary inconveniences, including dust, noise, vibration, and short traffic delays. The Township and its contractor will make reasonable efforts to minimize disruptions and complete the work as efficiently as possible.
Vehicle access to properties within the construction limits will be maintained as much as possible. At certain times, direct access to driveways may be temporarily interrupted during pulverization, milling, paving, or related restoration work. Advance notice will be provided wherever possible, and access will be restored as quickly as conditions permit.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the project, except where temporary restrictions are necessary for safety reasons.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
Traffic control measures, including signage, cones, and flag personnel where required, will be in place to guide motorists safely through the work zone.
On-street parking within active construction areas will not be permitted while work is underway. Residents are asked to remove vehicles from the roadway during posted construction periods to allow the contractor to proceed without delay.
Garbage, recycling, and organics collection are expected to continue on regular collection days. Residents are asked to clearly mark their address on all containers and place materials curbside by 7:00 a.m. If required, collection items may be temporarily relocated by the contractor to facilitate pickup and then returned later the same day.
Residents are reminded to use extra caution in and around the construction zone. For everyone’s safety, please do not enter closed work areas and ensure children and pets are kept a safe distance from equipment and materials.
To avoid unintended damage to private assets located within the road allowance, we request that all residents remove movable items such as hockey and basketball nets. Additionally, privately owned underground infrastructure, including irrigation systems, will not be identified through vendor locates. Therefore, all sprinkler heads within the road allowance must be clearly marked by the homeowner no later than Monday, June 8, 2026.
How to identify your sprinkler heads:
- Use flags, spray paint, or another visible marking method to indicate the location of sprinkler heads.
- Ensure markers are visible from the street for easy identification by the workers.
It is important that sprinkler heads within the right of way are clearly marked so as to avoid damage to personal property and facilitate efficient and timely resurfacing works.
Residents are advised that the Township is not responsible for damages to privately owned utilities or sprinkler systems on public property.
Further timelines and updates will be communicated through official Township channels.
