      March Break Public Skating Schedule


      Monday, March 13, 2023 -
      10:30 am-12:30 pm / 2:00-3:50 pm

      Tuesday, March 14, 2023 - 10:30 am-12:30 pm / 2:00-3:50 pm

      Wednesday, March 15, 2023 - 10:30 am-12:30 pm / 2:00-3:50 pm

      Thursday, March 16, 2023 - 10:30 am-12:30 pm / 2:00-3:50 pm

      Friday, March 17, 2023 - 2:00-3:50 pm

      Regular fees apply.

       

      Themes:

      Themed all ages public skating will be available at Elmvale Arena the week of March 13th to 17th. Costumes are encouraged! Kids need a skate break? A children’s activity table will be set up for some off ice fun!

      There will be no pre-school skate during March Break.

      Preschool/Homeschool Skating - Starting October 20

      This special skating time is specifically for preschoolers and their parents. Skate aids may be brought. Tots must wear a CSA approved helmet. 

      Schedule

      Tuesdays: 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
      Thursdays: 10:00 am to 11:15 am

      *There will be no Preschool/Homeschool skating on March 14 and March 16, please see March Break Skating Schedule.

      Fees

      There are no fees for adults accompanying a preschooler or homeschool student under 13 years of age for this skate time.

       Adult & Senior Skating - Starting October 20

      Our Seniors Skate offers a leisure skate time specifically for mature adults. Pre-registration is required for all Seniors Skate programs. Adult & Senior skating will take place according to the following schedule.

      Schedule

      Mondays & Thursdays: 1:00 pm to 1:50 pm

      *There will be no public skating on December 26 and February 20

       

      Fees

      Adults: $3.00

      Seniors: $2.00

       

      Payment can also be made at the gate (cash only). Please have exact change. 

      All Ages Public Skating - Starting October 23 

      Our All Ages Public Skate offers a leisure skate time open to everyone. Pre-registration is required for all Public Skate programs. 

      Schedule (Starting October 23)

      Sundays: 2:00 pm to 2:50 pm 

      *There will be no public skating on October 30, November 27, December 25 and January 1.

      Fees 

      Children: $1.00
      Student (17 years and under): $2.00
      Adults: $3.00


      Payment can also be made at the gate cash only. Please have exact change. 

      Notes:

      • Fees can be paid online or at the door with exact change.
      • All participants are required to wear skates. CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended.

      Adult Shinny Hockey 

      Schedule

      Fridays: 10:30 am to 11:30 am

      *There will be no Shinny on October 28, December 23 and December 30.

      Fee:

      The fee for shinny hockey is $10.00 per person. Please register online.

      Notes:

      • Fees can be paid online or at the door with exact change.
      • All participants MUST wear FULL HOCKEY GEAR and a CSA approved hockey helmet (cage recommended).
      • Games are non-contact.
      • Maximum number of participants: 30 players + 4 goalies/session.
       Public Skating Rules

      Skating Drop-ins:                             

      • Only persons with skates shall be permitted on the ice.                                          
      • Skate in the same direction as other skaters.  
      • It is recommended that all skaters wear CSA approved helmets.                 

      What is not permitted on the ice:                                           

      • Carrying children in arms                                           
      • Baby carriers and strollers                                         
      • Food and drink                                               
      • Sport sticks/pucks/toboggans and other items which might interfere with the safety of any skater                                   
      • Figure skating maneuvers such as jumps and spins                                    
      • Rough play such as tag, racing and games   
      • Being On the ice without wearing skates 
      • Participants 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by a guardian who is a minimum of 16 years of age and older. Guardians must also register for the drop-in activity (fees may apply).

      Arena Information 

      Elmvale Community Arena, located at 14 George Street, has an extended ice season from September to April. The arena features:

      • A 180' x 88' ice surface
      • Seven dressing rooms
      • Rental of the multipurpose “Springwater Room”

      Arena sponsorship

      Businesses can advertise at the arena on a first come, first served basis. For more information, contact our Recreation Department by email or at 705-728-4784 x2100.
