      Arena Information 

      Elmvale Community Arena, located at 14 George Street, has an extended ice season from September to April. The arena features:

      • A 180' x 88' ice surface
      • Seven dressing rooms
      • Rental of the multipurpose “Springwater Room”

      Public Skating

      March Break Skating Schedule

       

      All Ages March Break Public Skating 

      Monday March 10 - 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

      Tuesday March 11 - 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

      Wednesday March 12 - 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

      Thursday March 13 - 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

      Friday March 15 - 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

       

      Parent & Tot Public Skate Times 

      Monday March 10 - 10:00 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.

      Wednesday March 12 - 10:00 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.

      * Parents and caregivers are invited to bring their preschoolers (under 6 years of age) to this recreational slow paced skate. Children must wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet on the ice. Public skate fees apply

       

      * For Saturday and Sunday times please refer to the Public Skating schedule.

      * Adult & Senior will take place during their regular timeslots over the March Break week. 

       

       

      Preschool/Homeschool Skating

      This special skating time is specifically for preschoolers and their parents. Skate aids may be brought. Tots must wear a CSA approved helmet. 

      Schedule 

      Tuesdays: 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

      Thursdays: 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

      Fees

      Children: $1.00
      There are no fees for adults accompanying a preschooler or homeschool student under 13 years of age for this skate time.

       Adult & Senior Skating

      Our Seniors Skate offers a leisure skate time specifically for mature adults. Adult & Senior skating will take place according to the following schedule.

      Schedule (Starting October 21, 2024)

      Mondays: 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
      Thursdays: 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

       

      Exclusion dates:

      Thursday October 24, 2024 

      Monday December 23, 204

      Thursday December 26, 2024

      Monday December 30, 2024

      Monday February 17, 2025

       

      Fees

      Adults: $3.00

      Seniors: $2.00

       

      Payment can also be made at the gate (cash only). Please have exact change.

      All Ages Public Skating

      Our All Ages Public Skate offers a leisure skate time open to everyone. 

      Schedule (Starting November 2, 2024)

      Saturdays: 11:40 a.m. - 12:50 p.m.
      Sundays:
       10:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. 

      Exclusion Dates:

      Public Skating will be cancelled due to hockey tournaments or events on the following dates:

      • Saturday, October 26 & Sunday, October 27, 2024
      • Saturday, November 30 & Sunday, December 1, 2024
      • Saturday, December 7, 2024 
      • Saturday, January 25, 2025
      • Saturday, March 8 & Sunday, March 9, 2025
      • Saturday, March 22, 2025

      Fees 

      Children: $1.00
      Student (high school students): $2.00
      Adults: $3.00

      Payment can also be made at the gate (cash only). Please have exact change. 

      Notes:

      • Fees can be paid online or at the door with exact change.
      • All participants are required to wear skates. CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended.


      *Please refer to the Holiday Skating schedule for public skates between December 21 and January 5 and March 15-23. The arena will be closed on December 25, 26 and January 1. 

      *Public skating end for the year in March 

      Adult Shinny Hockey

      Schedule (Starting November 2, 2024)

      Fridays: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

      Fees

      $10.00 per person. Please register online.

       

      Notes:

      • Fees can be paid online or at the door with exact change.
      • All participants MUST wear FULL HOCKEY GEAR and a CSA approved hockey helmet (cage recommended).
      • Games are non-contact.
      • Maximum number of participants: 30 players + 4 goalies/session.


      Exclusion Dates:

      Adult Shinny will be cancelled due to hockey tournaments or events on the following dates:

      • Friday October 26, 2024
      • Friday November 29, 2024
      • Friday December 20, 2024
      • Friday December 27, 2024
      • Friday January 3, 2024
      • Friday March 7, 2025


      *Please refer to the Holiday Skating schedule for public skates between December 23 and January 7 and March 10-17.

      *Public skating ends for the year in March 

       Public Skating Rules

      Skating Drop-ins:                             

      • Only persons with skates shall be permitted on the ice.                                          
      • Skate in the same direction as other skaters.  
      • It is recommended that all skaters wear CSA approved helmets.                 

      What is not permitted on the ice:                                           

      • Carrying children in arms                                           
      • Baby carriers and strollers                                         
      • Food and drink                                               
      • Sport sticks/pucks/toboggans and other items which might interfere with the safety of any skater                                   
      • Figure skating maneuvers such as jumps and spins                                    
      • Rough play such as tag, racing and games   
      • Being On the ice without wearing skates 
      • Participants 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by a guardian who is a minimum of 16 years of age and older. Guardians must also register for the drop-in activity (fees may apply).



      *Please refer to the March Break Skating schedule for public skates between March 10 & 14. The arena will be closed

      Arena sponsorship

      Businesses can advertise at the arena on a first come, first served basis. For more information, contact our Recreation Department by email or at 705-728-4784 x2100.

      Rental information

      Please contact the Recreation department at recreation@springwater.ca or 705 728 4784 x2078 for more information and all booking requirements and availability for the 2023-2024 season.
