About the Candidate

George Cabral is the current Deputy Mayor of Springwater Township and has lived in the community for nearly four decades. He brings 33 years of experience in policing and eight years on Council. George serves on the OPP Detachment Board and participates in County Council. He also supports Boots on the Ground peer support. George and his partner Michelle raised their two children in Springwater.

Jennifer Coughlin is seeking re-election as Mayor of Springwater for the community she calls home. She has 12 years of experience on municipal Council. Former Ward Councillor and Deputy Mayor, Jennifer was elected Mayor in 2022 and Deputy Warden of Simcoe County. She is a mom, educator, and small-business owner.

Liz has volunteered throughout Springwater and served on the County of Simcoe Accessibility Advisory Committee and Springwater Public Library Board. Liz has decades of experience in community service and mental health, and as a School Board Trustee.

Anita Moore is a 2026 candidate for Springwater Deputy Mayor. A Grenfel resident for 30 years, she and Mike raised three sons and now enjoy three granddaughters. An RN, BScN, with nearly 30 years’ experience, Anita oversees palliative home care. She served eight years as Ward 4 Councillor, prior four years on the Committee of Adjustment, chairs the Professional Health Services Complex Ad Hoc Committee, and served two terms on the Hospice Simcoe Board, including as past Chair of the Governance Committee.

Hale Mahon is a lifelong local running for Ward 3 Councillor. He is Chair of the Midhurst Community Recreation Association and the Cultural & Heritage Advisory Committee, a Board Member at Wiidookdaadiwin Lookout, and a regular attendee at Council meetings.
