Notice of Passing of a By-Law to Amend Municipal Wide Development Charges By-law No. 2023-070

Take notice that the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Springwater passed By-law No. 2024-087, being a by-law to amend municipal wide Development Charges By-law No. 2023-070 on the 6th day of November, 2024 under section 2(1) of the Development Charges Act, 1997, S.O 1997 c. 27, as amended;

And take notice that the More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022 (Bill 23) introduced the removal of growth-related studies as eligible capital costs. The Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act, 2024 (Bill 185) received Royal Assent on June 6, 2024 and allows for growth-related studies as eligible capital costs. The purpose of the amending by-law is to add growth-related studies as eligible capital costs in the Township’s Development Charges By-law No. 2023-070.

The schedule of municipal development charges imposed by By-Law No. 2023-070, as amended, effective November 6, 2024 are as follows:
